COMPANY
THE HISTORY OF ODEA
Odea has been part of the European corsetry industry for several generations. The Jabouley Group was founded in 1890, with the development of hook and eye closures beginning in 1970.
The company is rooted in a long-standing industrial heritage in the Saint-Étienne region. This local expertise was built through two historic players in the lingerie industry—AFL and Jabouley Corseterie—both specialists in corsetry accessories, who joined forces in 2009. This merger led to the creation of Odea: a modern company specialising in the manufacture of hook and eye closures, wire casing, and straight cut binding.
CONTINUOUSLY EVOLVING MACHINERY
The merger was supported by significant investments, resulting in the development of a range of high-performance machines tailored to the demands of today’s textile industry. Since then, Odea has maintained a policy of ongoing investment. This commitment ensures the continuous enhancement of our technical capabilities and reinforces our role as an innovative solution provider.
OUR VALUES
Odea draws on a French textile heritage founded on excellence, precision, and an integrated production model that controls every stage of manufacturing. This approach guarantees full traceability, consistent quality, and the preservation of highly regarded expertise. Our teams—combining experience and rigour—ensure that the core values of the corsetry tradition are upheld.
The company has developed a bespoke approach that allows its processes to be adapted to specific needs, styles, and technical constraints. Supported by a flexible and responsive organisation that works closely with its partners, Odea ensures fast communication, careful project monitoring, and reliable, precise support for its customers.
OUR KEY STRENGTHS
DYEING
Odea is the proud owner of a unique asset in Europe: its in-house dyeing workshop. This facility serves not only our own production but also the dyeing of customers’ fabrics, laces, elastics, and polyamide accessories. It allows us to reproduce colours with exceptional accuracy.
Our fully equipped laboratory can develop and dye approximately 2,000 different colours per year. We finish both virgin and recycled knitted fabrics to the same high quality standards.
Our dyeing equipment is fully automated, enabling us to produce a wide range of quantities to suit your needs.
Thanks to this expertise, Odea can become your colour reference. We develop master shades that can be shared with your other suppliers, ensuring perfect colour consistency across production lines and enhancing the overall quality of your collections.
BESPOKE
Customisation lies at the heart of our approach. Our accessories can be adapted and modified for each project, and our experience is fully available to support your ideas. We continuously seek the most appropriate technical solutions for your designs, enhancing creative freedom while ensuring consistency across collections.
QUALITY
Quality is a cornerstone of Odea’s business. It is reflected at every stage, from material selection to final inspection. Our teams carefully monitor each step of production, ensuring optimal strength and long-lasting durability.
MADE IN FRANCE
“Made in France” is a strong commitment for Odea. Manufacturing locally allows us to preserve valuable know-how while ensuring a high level of responsiveness. Our teams work closely together every day, at the heart of the production process.
INTERNATIONAL
GLOBAL PRESENCE
Odea’s activity extends well beyond France. A significant share of our production is exported, strengthening our understanding of international markets and enabling us to offer services tailored to the specific needs of each country.
We work with brands across Europe, Africa, the Americas, and Asia. Our export team has in-depth expertise in international trade and is fully familiar with logistical and regulatory requirements, ensuring smooth and professional support.
OUR AGENTS
Odea also relies on a network of qualified agents operating in various regions worldwide. These partners promote the company locally and provide valuable proximity for international customers. Their role is to understand local market needs and relay essential information, improving communication and accelerating exchanges.
CERTIFICATIONS AND COMMITMENTS
OEKO-TEX®
Odea places safety and responsibility at the core of its manufacturing processes. All our products are certified OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100, a globally recognised label for textiles tested for harmful substances. This certification sets the benchmark for textile safety, from yarn to finished product.
Every item bearing the STANDARD 100 label has been tested and certified as harmless to human health. The more intensive the skin contact, the stricter the testing requirements applied.
GRS – Global Recycling Standard
Since 2025, Odea has also been GRS certified. This international certification guarantees the use of verified recycled materials and enforces strict criteria relating to environmental management, social responsibility, traceability, and chemical compliance. This commitment strengthens our approach to responsible and sustainable production and reflects our desire to support brands in their transition towards cleaner textiles.
CSR POLICY. Corporate Social Responsibility
Our industrial choices are guided by a sustainable, long-term vision. We regularly invest in high-performance, energy-efficient equipment and prioritise environmentally responsible processes, while encouraging the rational use of resources.
Our CSR policy is based on concrete commitments. We strive to maintain a local and responsible production model, value in-house expertise, and promote knowledge sharing. We are continuously developing methods to reduce waste while improving traceability, and we work closely with partners who share our values.
